Life was good. It just wasn’t long enough. Eighty-year-old Jacob Hopkins is dying and wishes to return to his fourteen-year-old body. He has no burning desire to change the world. He just isn’t ready to die. And someone has decided that’s okay. But Jacob is in for a major surprise.
Book 2: Double Time
Summer has come and Jacob is learning more about his new world every day. Emily has left for National Service. Rachel is struggling along with him in Algebra II summer school. He’s learning to drive again in a world that has zero tolerance for traffic violations. And his new running mentor is encouraging him to run cross country. Who knows who he’ll meet on the track.
Sophomore year is in full swing!
Book 3: Double Tears
Joan left for National Service without saying goodbye and now the pod is struggling to right itself from the shock. But there is no time sit around as this crew moves into summer. Jacob agreed to help Desi and her parents at the cons and Ren Faires this summer. So why shouldn’t everyone tag along? It sounds fine until Cindy and her mother decide they need to go along, too. It’s all just a setup for strange things to happen during junior year!
Book 4: Double Twist
Senior year and Marvel and Hopkins are becoming ever more popular. It seems that even the President of the United States has noticed them. Jacob faces a new challenge in racing half marathons instead of 10k. And both the National School of the Arts and the National Service are looking for ways to use Jacob and Cindy to promote the reform movement. The duet comes near to starting a rebellion if it weren’t for the timely action of the President. Now, with a new law in place, it is time for the pod to create a legal plural domestic partnership and acknowledge their relationship to each other publicly.
Book 5: Double Team
It’s a whole new world now that Jacob and all his pod except Cindy have graduated from high school. The National Service can’t wait to have Marvel and Hopkins on the road as a deputation team, talking about life in the service. They are on the road as soon as school is out, even though they won’t be inducted for two more months. But not everyone is happy with their message of reform and some will stop at nothing to make sure it won’t be heard.
